This blog is about a very unique REAL WEDDING, an outdoor country wedding. You might love it, as I did, you might love the DIY, decor, because it’s eco and earthy. We incorporate everything to describe the bride and groom’s personality.

He came with his horse, she came with her horse

My bride, Terri and my groom Michael met through his sister. They both were going though tough times so his sister thought both of them could use a good friend. They went to Hewitt at the Lion’s Heart pub, Michael ordered fish and chips while Terri was helping herself on his fries. Michael told Terri he always wanted to live upcountry with horses, and to her surprise this was also her dream. He drove her home in his BMW and saw Michael as a kind, and a caring person.

She saw him again on his birthday at his sister’s house. This is where Michael met Cameron, (bride’s son) and Mojo (her dog, the ring bearer) Since then, they spent almost everyday together and I’m sure forever.

I was their seventh wedding planner whom they interviewed. I went to our initial meeting, not knowing where I was going (totally depending on my GPS) 45 minutes later, As I pass the long driveway, I this wedding will be different, it will chic, and classic.

Instead of buying an arch, the groom made this wooden arch, the brides man attached twinkle lightings at night. Groomsmen moved this arch to the tented tent by the gate. We then hanged lavender and green orchids

This wedding is not your typical wedding. The bride, groom and her son planted a tree during the ceremony to commemorate and symbolically remember their vows they made. Their friendship and their love, will nourish their lives. just as he dirt, and rain feed the tree, so that as a result, their family grows and flourishes for years and years to come.

Bride and Groomfamily vows were made, with the bride's sonThey also have family vows and ring for 3 of them as a symbol of the joining of their families. Just as the ring circles Michael and Terri's finger, as they present a ring to Cameron, they will encompass Cameron with strength and protecting love. This is a sign of 3 hearts joined together in friendship and united forever in love. After presentation of couple, Michael and Terri broke the glass to incorporate the Jewish tradition on both family....and they exchanged rings Mojo - ring bearer who's tie matches with the groom's tieThis arch is made by the groom from their 10 acre property. We then accessorize it with orchids and lights

This is the cocktail area, with a tiki bar. We then places floating candles to light up the pool all night. Another Cabana bar is open in the tented reception area till early morning.

Cocktail around the poolBridesmaids and bridesmanGroomsmen and Mojo is running around

The ceremony is between their pond full of Koi Fish and their home

Ceremony

I asked the groom to cut an inch thick of a tree trunk he collected from their property. We then attached “Mr & Mrs”.

Why Special?

It’s the biggest state in America and it is also the most north and coldest stat with huge mountains too. It’s also because she’s one of the only places in the world that still has an iceage.

Alaska is where the beringia used to be. Beringia was a land bridge back when the world was pangia.pangia was when all the worlds continents were one huge chunk of land.Back in the b.c and a.d’s the land bridge was used to cross land. From Russia to alaska, to Canada. Now beringia is called Bering Strait.

Bering Strait, Alaska

Marriage Requirement

Here’s what you need to know and what documents to bring with you before you apply for a Alaska marriage license. We recommend getting this legal aspect of your wedding out of the way about a month before your wedding date.

Remember that requirements may vary as each borough in Alaska could have their own requirements. Congratulations and much happiness as you begin your lifetime journey together!

ID Requirement:

Picture ID such as a driver’s license. If application is mailed or faxed in, it must be witnessed by a Notary Public.

Residency Requirement:

You do not have to be a resident of Alaska.

Previous Marriages:

If divorced within the last 60 days, a certified copy of the divorce decree is needed.

A cruise wedding can be one of the best ways to combine the joy of your wedding with the beauty and fun of travel.

Explore exotic ports. Enjoy romantic candlelight dinners. Dance under the stars. Stroll deserted beaches. Plan an escape for just the two of you or surround yourself with friends and family. We’ll help you choose the perfect cruise AND plan your special occasion.

Cruise weddings in some cruise carriers starts as low as $2200 (not including the cruise). Not only are cruise weddings affordable, they give a couple an opportunity to sail on their honeymoon to a variety of ports immediately following the wedding. Many ships have dedicated wedding chapels and can also arrange port-side weddings.

Wedding cruise packages are available through almost every major cruise carrier, and wedding cruises are becoming an increasingly popular way to celebrate the big day while enjoying a vacation with your closest friends and family. Many ship companies even specialize in cruise ship weddings and offer cruise packages that not only include accommodation, but all of the necessary items for an entire cruise wedding.

Wedding cruises for travelers from the United States tend to be most popular to locations such as Mexico, the Bahamas and throughout the Caribbean. Not only are these places warm and sunny throughout much of the year, but their close proximity makes travel a bit easier on the wedding party and guests who may be coming to the wedding.

So many Cruise Wedding Packages to choose from like for instance the Alaska Glacier Wedding just to name one.

It’s hard to imagine anything more romantic than an escape to our extraordinary Paradise Island for a wedding which is nestled in one of the world’s most exotic destinations. You can say your vows on the beach at sunset, or indulge in an unforgettable honeymoon overflowing with tropical allure.

Her Basics

Country StatisticsLocationChain of islands in the North Atlantic Ocean, southeast of Florida, northeast of Cuba. TimeGMT – 5 (GMT – 4 from first Sunday in April to last Sunday in October). Population305,655. CapitalNassau. Population: 331,000. GeographyComprising 700 low-lying islands, mostly islets (cays or keys), atolls, and rocks, the Bahamas archipelago extends 970km (500 miles) southeastward from the coast of Florida. Sparkling, clear waters are home to vibrant underwater gardens on the world’s third longest barrier reef, which contains about 14.5% of the coral on the planet. Fertile marine plains are split between two oceanic facets, the Little Bahama Bank and the Great Bahama Bank, where visibility of around 60m (197ft) is the norm. Exotic flowers, pine forest, rugged shoreline, barren savannahs, marshlands, and sandy beaches typify the landscape, on a bed of limestone and coral rocks. Electricity120-volts AC, 60Hz. US-style plug sockets and outlets are standard.

What’s special about her?

Clear water and pristine beaches are what most people think of when they think of the Bahamas. This is the clearest water you’ll find with visibility of over 200 feet . Many visitors return year after year for the amazing scuba diving .

Your Bahamas vacation is not complete if you don’t get on a boat. From large charter boats to kayaks you can find many different ways to spend time on the water . Many tourists choose to explore the islands and cays in a rented boat.

No matter what you want to do on your Bahamas vacation you are sure to find what you are looking for.
What’s special about New Zealand?

Posted by Carlyn Zwarenstein on Jun 22, 2010

Lots of things, I’m sure. I’ve never been there. The closest I’ve gotten is South Africa, which is not really that close. Or Wales, which has the sheep and the rolling hills and that velvety gorgeous green. But the other day I had an interesting discussion with a friend who did her masters degree in New Zealand about what that country has to offer someone–by which I mean me–with an interest in citizen science.

Being an island, or rather an assortment of islands, New Zealand has the endemic, peculiar biodiversity typical of islands, where the magic of evolution and the results of natural selection operating on an isolated population are so evident. Of course, it is the chains of islands, like the Galapagos, or the archipelago that New Zealand is, where the tiny differences in species from island to island are especially striking. That–the tiny variations he observed among finches, the different types of tortoise from island to island–is what started the gears turning for Charles Darwin (we can talk more about natural selection and islands some other time, if you like).

Related to the geographic and consequent genetic alienation that produce such unique collections of species on islands (just to go back to evolution briefly, the process is calledallopatric speciation) is their terrible vulnerability to invasive species. While invasives can have a neutral effect, they can also be incredibly destructive. New Zealand, which was almost mammal-free for dozens of millions of years, has been plagued since the first humans arrived just 750 to 1000 years ago by the rats and dogs they brought with them. Species introduced since include plants that outcompete natives and browsing animals that eat them voraciously. Some 25,000 plant species, 54 mammal species, and 2000 invertebrates have been introduced, and a couple of thousand new plant species arrive every year, despite noble attempts to keep them out.

Consequently (along with other, related factors), biodiversity losses in New Zealand have been staggering. A third of protected forests, for example) are threatened by alien species. (all of this information comes from a New Zealand government website dedicated to NZ biodiversity, the potted explanation of island biogeography is mine, as are all errata) As a result, there is huge popular awareness and interest, and a serious need for citizen scientists to catalogue existing species and investigate how biodiversity is changing.

Are you a scientist or citizen scientist in New Zealand? Just a quick search of ye olde internet has shown me that there is tremendous citizen science activity in the country (there’s also a creative science writing masters program that strongly tempts me to uproot my life and move down south to the beautiful, if threatened, green land). Always, though, it is the individual stories of what people are doing that bring it to life.

Marriage Documentation:

As part of your Wedding Package, I will guide you through the necessary legal steps to marry here in New Zealand. Marrying in a foreign country with foreign laws could be a daunting experience to alot of couples. However, by utilizing my skills and knowledge,Weddings in New Zealand can alleviate the anxiety and help you create a more fabulous wedding than you could have ever imagined.

Here is a basic guide of what will happen:

§ I will email you a form to confirm your Full Name, Date of Birth, Occupation etc. Once you send this back to me I will transfer this information onto your BDM58 form and keep this on file.

§ The month prior to your wedding I will lodge the BDM58, thus applying for your Marriage Licence.

§ If you wish to marry in the same month as you have contacted me, this is not a problem. However, legally you must give 3 days notice.

§ On the day we have made arrangements to meet you, I will organise for a Taxi to pick you up at your accommodation (Centrally Located) in Christchurch. The taxi will drop you off at the legal office (Births, Deaths & Marriages). We will be waiting for you to assist with obtaining your licence. After we have obtained this we will sit down and go through all your wedding arrangements together to make sure you are happy with everything. Please note that the legal offices are only open Monday to Friday.

§ On your wedding day you will sign 2x identical Marriage Licence’s

§ 1 copy is filed at the Marriage Licence Office

§ The other is yours to keep

§ After your Marriage Licence papers are received by the Legal Office, I can then apply for your Marriage Certificate & Apostille Certificate, this process usually takes 1 month to file.

§ Your Marriage Certificate & Apostille Certificate will be couriered to your home address, this will take a maximum of a further 7 days

§ Please note the Apostille Cert covers most countries (Australia, U.K. & U.S.A) however there are countries which need a different legal document called an Authentication Certificate. This applies to Middle Eastern countries, Canada & many Asian countries. Please let me know if you were born in these countries as further costs do apply.

Extra Certificate

It’s always handy to have more than one Certificate, especially if you are changing your Maiden Name, as many companies e.g. Insurance / Banks require a copy of the certificate. If you require or would like more than one copy please advise. The additional cost is $32.

CURRENCY: Mauritian Rupee = 28.25 US Dollar

Why Mauritius?

http://www.mauriclick.com/mauritius/information.htm

Mauritius is one of the top 10 most romantic places to go on the planet.

Mauritius, a melting pot where past and present are smoothly blended together, offers an essential beauty that will compel to return to its shores time and time again. Mauritius will enchant you; will uplift your soul, making you feel that you belong to the chosen few. In fact you may find yourself becoming completely overwhelmed by the sights, sounds and smells that this island paradise has to offer.

Certainly this is one of the most romantic destinations that a young couple can go to and spend time enjoying each other’s company. There is plenty of accommodation on the island to select from and where you stay will depend upon your budget. Every visitor enjoys personal attention. Every encounter is an opportunity to discover a friendly face. Behind each smile lies the promise of a unique holiday.

Main question what is the best time of year to visit Mauritius? Since the weather is reasonable throughout the year one can visit at about just anytime you want. However, July and September is most favored time of year by most tourists as the temperatures and humidity levels are much lower. On the other hand you can expect much more rain than normal during January to April.

If you intend to participate in some diving and snorkeling during stay in Mauritius then during December and March is perfect time to visit. At this time of year the waters around the island are at the clearest and you can see the varied scenery of the aquatic world.

Getting Married In Mauritius

Getting married in Mauritius is very romantic. What could be more appealing than exchanging vows on a white sandy beach with palm trees waving in the distance and soothing waves gently lapping around your feet and the setting sun sending its golden rays across the bay.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED

Photocopies of the following documents must be submitted at least 6 weeks before you are due to travel:

Birth certificates

Valid 10 year passports

Full names, addresses and occupations

If divorced, Decree Absolute (if the wife has been divorced for less than 10 months at the time of your wedding, a medical certificate to confirm that she is not pregnant to be obtained in Mauritius)

If widowed, Death Certificate of former spouse and previous marriage certificate

If your name has been changed by Deed Poll, the legal proof thereof.

Originals of all these documents must be in your possession when you travel.

The “Civil Status Act” states that marriage of non-residents can take place the day following publication of marriage banns.

However, the couple must obtain a certificate issued by the Prime Minister’s Office and given to the Registrar of Civil Status Officer stating that they are not Mauritian citizens or Mauritian residents. This certificate can be obtained beforehand by sending a request to the Registrar of Civil Status, 7th Floor, Emmanuel Anquetil Building, Port Louis. (230) 201 1727, (230) 211 2420. The document must be accompanied by 2 birth certificate copies of both spouses and of their passports (first three pages), as well as any other document in cases of divorce or widowhood.

Request for a non-resident certificate must reach the Civil Status Office at least 10 days before date set for marriage. Marriage can take place in the presence of a Civil Status Officer at the Registrar of Civil Status or at the hotel.

Public Holidays in Mauritius

There are 13 public holidays in the year, of which the following are fixed:

Conclusion

“Hospitality is our way of life. Mauritius will enchant you, will uplift your soul, and make you feel amongst the chosen few. Every visitor enjoys personal attention. Every encounter is an occasion to discover a friendly face. Behind every smile lies the promise of a unique holiday. Notwithstanding the contrast of a multitude of colors and tastes, the island, set in its turquoise sea, is a haven of peace and tranquility. Mauritius, that crucible where the past and the present have learned to meld so smoothly into each other, carries an inherent beauty that will make you want to come back to its shores time and time again.

Having been to Thailand many foreigners say it was one of the best places they have gone in the world. The place, the food, the people, the services and the price are fascinating.

Thailand – the land of freedom…the land of the free as it is the only Southeast Asian country that was never colonized by a European power. It is also named “the land of smiles” and contrast, one with everything to offer, from the vibrancy of Bangkok to the rural villages and hill tribes to the idyllic southern islands. Be surrounded by dazzling scenery, captivating history, mouth-watering food, beaches, mountains, cities, villages and most importantly the amazing people who will help you appreciate it. All in all, travel Thailand and you’ll find it a richly rewarding experience.

It is also labelled as a golden land – lustrous place and hospital citizenry, not a literal gold. It is a very lucky place – it has the looks, the temperament and the attraction.

Thai food addicts or beach sports fanatic; everything is available affordably compared with the rest of the world. Thailand is beautiful by land and more by sea. There are variety of sailing adventures with excellent services and duration.

Marrying in Thailand

Marrying in Thailand is easy, cheap and unique.

A lot of westerners come to Thailand and marry a Thai. Others come with a western boyfriend or girlfriend and get married while they’re here. Getting married in Thailand is actually not that difficult and it’s a<ins>lot cheaper than in the US or Europe. Whether you’re a farang (westerner) living in Thailand and marrying a Thai woman or man, or whether you’re a western couple coming to Thailand to get married, the same rules pretty much apply. If you plan on getting married in Thailand, here’s how to do it and what you’ll need to bring with you to make sure you can.</ins>

<ins>Documents You Need – If you’re a foreigner marrying either a Thai citizen or another foreigner, you’ll need to make sure you have your passport with two copies of the photograph page and also two copies of the page showing your visa into Thailand. Your passport must be valid for at least six months otherwise Thai authorities won’t even let you in the country, let alone get married.</ins>

<ins>Secondly, you’ll have to get an Affirmation of Freedom to Marry, which you can get at your home embassy in Bangkok – and a certified translation of this document in Thai. You’ll then have to take this document to the Legalization and Naturalization Division of the Department of Consular Affairs on Chaeng Wattana Road in northern Bangkok to get it authenticated. It normally takes two working days and you’ll have to return there to pick it up (which can be a real drag as it’s a long way and the traffic is horrendous), but if you pay an extra fee (they’ll tell you how much as it seems to change every day), you can usually get it taken care of that day. </ins><ins>Like every other document in Thailand, you’ll also need a photocopy of both of these documents (Thai officials love photo copies!).</ins>

<ins>If you’re marrying a Thai citizen, he or she will only need two things – their Identification Card, which every Thai carries, and their House Registration Document (a blue book) with, of course, a photo copy of both of these.</ins>

Holidays in Thailand
